Yes, schooling is needed to be a hair stylist. Not only do I think that schooling is needed but also extending classes. I think people want to trust that their hair stylist is up to date with all their schooling and new trends.
Hair stylists should have at least a high school diploma or GED. However, a cosmetology degree and a license is preferred when applying for job.
