To engage the wheel for 4x4 operation, the selector should be set to the "Lock" position.j3h.
NO you can not. There's no way to install them, Because of the way the front axel comes through the front hub. NOT POSSIBLE.
Lock your hubs and put the car in neutral, then push the 4X4 button, same thing with low range
If you have lock outs or free spinning front hubs, you turn the center of each front hub to lock them in. If you don't have lock outs, they lock in when you put it in four wheel drive. To unlock them, take it out of four wheel and slowly back up 3 to 5 feet.
I think you have to put it in 4wd in the cab and then go outside and on both front wheels, there is a round hub in the middle of the wheel. You have to turn those the direction it says to lock them. That's how it is on my '86 Ford F150.
If the car is auto it may mean press the brake. If ir is a 4x4 it may mean put into diff lock or lock 4wd/lowboy/diff lock mode

in replacing the front bearings you need to replace the entire hub assembly. approx $300 remove the brake calaiper and mount, and the rotor. Remove the star screws holing the hub in place and remove the hub. *the hub may need to be persuaded with a hammer* Mine certainly did. be careful not to damage the 4x4 actuator wire. Replace the new hub over the groved axle and put everything back together. good luck
Stop truck, put 4x4 lever in 2 wd,put transmission in reverse and back up about 3 feet and you will hear it click, then you are in 2wd.
put trany into neutral and put t-case in neurtal put the key into the ignition and turn 1 click so the stereing lock is off and you are good to go
Yes! On a stock wheel. I put 265-75-16's on stock 03 rims on my 98 4x4. Fits and looks great. No rub lock to lock.
Lift the vehicle with a car jack, remove the hub, remove the nuts, and remove the old tire. Next put on the new tire, replace the nuts, tighten down the nuts, replace the hub, and lower the car.
