possibly. if the top bidder pulls out at the last minute you could be the next highest bidder which could potentially win you the auction but otherwise no, you dont pay anything unless you win the auction
If you bid on an item, but don't win, then you don't pay anything to anyone.
You should only bid on an item on eBay if you really want it. If you see two or more similar items that you would like, you should only bid on one at a time and not bid on any of the others until the previous auctions have ended. This is because if you bid on an item and are then outbid by someone else, although common sense dictates that you have lost the item and are free to look for another one, eBay doesn't work like that. They say that if you have placed a bid and are outbid by someone else you should wait until the auction actually finishes before you go and bid on an alternative because if the person who outbid you subsequently retracts their bid, you could still win the item. This is confusing and unfair but it is how eBay works.

no you dont just as long as your maximum bid has not been out bid. If no one gets near to your bid then you automatically win it. So you can be on the toilet if you want in the final moments and still win that used toilet roll

They do not ask for your credit card info to place a bid on EBay. If you accidently placed a bid you should try to contact the seller to see if they will let you cancel your purchase. If they will not, then you will have to pay for the item if you are the highest bidder.
If the item is still in your watch list then yes, you are both a bidder and a watcher at the same time. if you bid and remove the item from your watch list then you are a bidder only and not a watcher.
Just bid on a item. You can pay for it if you won it.
