Yes we can eat duck, but we can't eat pig. Any animals that come from the sea that's are not fish like oysters, squid and crayfish we also cant eat insects and horse unless it's its left leg and you must have no food and be close to death then its halal. Also, we can't eat animals that kill and eat meat with its canine teeth like dogs, lions, tigers and wolf and we can't eat birds that kill with there claws like eagles and buzzards there are other animals like a tortoise haram to eat and I don't know why we can't eat them but its haram to eat or kill them this answer is based in the Islamic teaching of Hanafiz. In Morocco they eat pigeon but they are maliki so it might be halal in there teaching and in Indonesia they eat a lot of insects but I have no idea what there teachings are. I am no imam and I don't want to misguide you so please ask your imam about any of these animals or insects.
