There is the pervasive stereotype that Muslims are terrorists because the vast majority of terrorism worldwide is currently perpetrated by Muslims. Of course, these actions represent little more than a rounding error in the overall Muslim population, but their consistency combined with the fact that most Westerners do not have consistent interactions with Muslims has bred this stereotype.

Most Muslims do not kill people. Most Muslims go to work in the morning and come home to their families in the evening. Of the 1.6 billion Muslims on this planet, less than 0.1% have ever killed anybody.
