The PS3 creates heat due to all the power that it uses. When power flows though components of the PS3 it produces heat based on how much power is used. When a PS3 is very active, like when it plays games, it produces a lot more heat then when it is doing nothing since a lot more power is needed.
the ps3 slim does heat up quickly but you can buy a addition to the ps3 slim seperaltly which helps cool it down but the ps3 original does ot overheat ....as a owner of both versions the slim does heat up faster than the original but neither overheat at all.....they do get hot but they never overheat......I ve left both consoles on allnight to download loads of things and it didnt over heat
yes it does...even though it has a coolin system,,,if u play for like 10 hours it will overheat,,,,u can know if it is overheated by touchin the back SO YES IT DOES OVERHEAT AND I KNOW BECAUSE MINES JUST OVERHEATED RIGHT NOW
i think it may have something to do with the thermal paste inside the ps3. my friends ps3 kicks into a really high fan level everytime it turns on because he changed the hard drive. But to stop overheating you could try the attachable extra fan that came out for the ps3, its not made by sony but in might work. also try keep your system clear of dust and other electronics that may cause it to heat up.
You realize, Man I am a no life for playing long enough for it to over heat...
send me some C4 and I'll send you a video
