I am a Quaker living in England and have running water, electricity,a computer, access to a television and radio, etc. I wonder if the poster is confusing us Friends with the Amish?
We have piped water in our Meeting house but only cold water; hot water is a luxury that our former Friends evidently thought was going too far.
We try to make our lives and our worship simple, but not to the point of refusing all 'mod cons'.
