From my experience, I'd say they're not. Sagittarius will find Taurus too materialistic, stubborn, and not very spontanous. Taurus has a hard time understanding abstract subjects, while Sagittarius loves abstracts (philosophy, religion, metaphysics, etc). Taurus will find Sadge's excessive optimism and spontaneity too reckless and irresponsible and will view it as a threat to their material and emotional security. I've never dated a Taurus, but I have a lot of them in my family and work, and that's been my experience with all of them. Taurus always seems to look down to the ground and trust what they can see and touch, while Sagittarius seems to look up and trusts what he can't see, and that bothers Taurus. I hope that helps.
