While some individual members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church may practice things that are not accepted officially by the church, the church as a whole does not approve of public nudity or things akin to it, like body painting. In a somewhat related issue, makeup is generally frowned upon to varying degrees, but where it is somewhat accepted (e.g. parts of the US), natural-looking makeup is preferred. Many Adventists, at least in the US, would probably consider face painting at public fairs or for Halloween to be a harmless diversion, however.

Why do Adventists use unfermented fruit juice in the celebration of the Lords Supper?

Seventh-day Adventists shun Alcoholic Beverages, one of which is wine, or fermented fruit juice. Adventists read in The Bible, which is their guide to living, that the human body is, in a sense, a temple that should not be defiled in any way. Since alcohol is known to be injurious to the human body in a number of ways, Adventists do not partake of beverages that contain it. Incidentally, alcohol is a drug, just like heroin or cocaine, and is always classified as such.

Do Adventists believe that unless you are a vegetarian you cannot be saved?

No, Seventh-day Adventists do not believe that you must be a vegetarian to be saved. Adventists do share a health message which is meant to improve quality of life and to help follow the Biblical idea that the body is the temple of God. This health message includes many recommendations, and one of these is vegetarianism. But there are many Adventists, especially outside the United States, who are not vegetarians.

What are the differances between catholics and seventh day adventists?

There are many differences between Catholics and Seventh-day Adventists, as there are between Catholics and most Protestants. Some of the differences between them are:Catholics have a priesthood while Adventists support the priesthood of all believers.Adventists do not recognize the Pope, the President of the Adventist church has no doctrinal authority.Adventists worship on Saturday and Catholics worship on Sunday.Catholics believe that Mary was born perfect (without original sin), remained a virgin her whole life, was taken into heaven at the end, and serves as coredemptrix with Christ. Adventists believe that Mary was a simple, imperfect girl; that she was a virgin until after Christ's birth; that she died, was buried, and is still in the grave; and that Jesus is the only Redeemer. Adventists believe that people rest in the grave when they die (soul sleep) until the Second Coming of Jesus, with very few exceptions (e.g. Enoch, Elijah, etc.).Catholics accept the adoration of images and saints; Adventists do not.Adventists practice Communion (similar to the Eucharist) and believe in consubstantiation (the bread and Grape Juice [not wine] represent the body and blood of Christ); Catholics practice the Eucharist and believe in transubstantiation (that the bread and wine become the actual body and blood of Christ).Another answer:Adventist are perhaps more similar to Catholics that most Protestants, Adventists recognize an extra-Biblical source and some Adventists deny righteousness by faith alone.
