∙ 13y agoThe only person that could really know the answer to this question is the company itself. However there have been no recalls so far so I guess they are okay. Furthermore, the only type of Silly Bandz that is rumored to cause skin cancer is the small scented ones and glittery ones. The normal ones are completely fine.
Silly Bandz is only rumored to cause cancer. There is no real account of cancer. However, if too many are worn, especially to bed, can cause blood flow through the arm to stop. Only 1 to 4 Silly Bandz are appropriate and safe. Too many are very dangerous and can cause reduced blood flow. One account had a girl wearing up to 30 Silly Bandz and her arm turned completely white. So, while they do not really cause skin cancer, there must be some caution.
I've heard that Silly Bandz cause skin cancer, but personally if something was wrong with these rubber bands, then I think there would've been a recall.
Many people say that only the glittery and glow in the dark bandz can cause cancer because they are high in nucleus and are radio active. I've also heard that a girl wore to many silly bandz to bed, and died. I think that her blood couldn't circulate properly through her arm. Maybe it's safe to say that you should wear 1-3 silly bandz only and remember to take them off before you go to sleep. ∙ 13y agoNo. The sun gives you skin cancer after exposure of many years. Wearing a rubber band doesn't give cancer. You may get a red line if it is too tight, or if you chew on the ones that glow in the dark you may get some of the chemical in your system.
