Throughout the world there are many airports that have 'cellars' or basements. One of the most recent famous basements of an international airport is Heathrow's Terminal 5. It features an amazing hotel complex. The 13 story hotel has seven floors that reach beneath the airport!
Other airports have cellars stretching back to the early fifties where airport and national security facilities exist.
Moscow's Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo airports both have basements consisting of vast labyrinths of tunnels and gathering points. Stored beneath the airport are (allegedly) storage for small and medium arms for use in the event of a global conflict should their be a run on the airports, plus several well-disguised tunnels that lead from the basement directly to tarmac exists to facilitate the evacuation of officials.
Other key international airports are known to have cellars featuring anything from rest areas for staff, hospital and medical services, restaurants, training rooms, national defence storage, and in at least one airport there's a cellar morgue and crematory.
