No life can exist without water. However, in one form (free form) or another (bound) but biochemical reaction needs water. some animals need less water while others need relatively more. If we think of plants in deserts(zerophytes) they also take water even less. In the same way animal in deserts(Zerozoites) may need water less or more as they need water for their metabolic process. As a result of metabolic process waste metabolites must produce. How waste can be excreted without water. If water gets out it then must get in to replinish and continue the life process. Now, animals in deserts may not necessarily take water in pure form but may take it bound in food depending its amount on need of the animal.

Alligators live in and around water. Obtaining drinking water is as easy as opening their mouths and letting the water flow in and down to their insides.
They have a transparent membrane that covers the eye when they submerge.
Yes, they are common in the fresh water rivers near the coast.
Aligators ambush. Sometimes there is more than one in a pool of water. All the aligators wait for an animal to get a drink and then snatch the animal with it's mighty jaws. All of the aligators try to get a piece of the animal and sometimes fight over the meat and sometimes killing eachother. So i guess you could say that they do hunt together.
They hold their breath for hours on end, giving the impression that they can breathe underwater.
aligators eat fish and other things like rabbits things with meat
