THE ANSWER TO THIS IS: yes, indeed, iF YOU DO A TRACING BACKWARDS TO THE SPANIARDS WHO HAVE MOORISH BLOOD, WHO THEN IN TURN INVADED AND CONQUERED THE AMERICAS (BETWEEN THE EARLY 1500'S TILL BOLIVAR HAD HIS VICTORY), AND WHO IN TURN BORE CHILDREN WITH THEIR ENSLAVED AFRICANS BROUGHT INTO THE MAJOR PORTS, (LIKE CARTAGENA, Colombia),

THERE ARE MANY CATEGORIZATIONS AND "SHADES" OF BLACKNESS THAT HAVE OCURRED SINCE THEN... AND EVEN SOME LIGHT SKINNED, WHITE. LATINOS HAVE AFRICAN BLOOD...

IT STANDS TO REASON THAT A GREAT PERCENTAGE OF LATINOS WHO ARE DARKER SKINNED, AND AS WELL, SOME LIGHT-SKINNED, SUPPOSEDLY WHITE ONES , DO INDEED HAVE AFRICAN DESCENT...NOT ONLY IS THIS VISUALLY AND ANECTODALLY VERIFIABLE, BUT INDEED, WITH OUR USE OF DNA TESTING, IT WOULD BE SOOOO EASY TO ESTABLISH THIS AS A TRUTH...

Operative word here "many" which may be equivalent to Southern Bible Belt Americans too then.. who also raped slaves and had babies?

Although I agree there are many Hispanics with African descent or mulattos..this isn't the case for many. In fact, I know many of French, Basque, Irish, Russian and Northern Italians that look just as American as apple pie.

Watch the Spanish language channel and check out the soaps, you will see the same melting pot as you see in the States.

And just because some may have "dark skin" this doesn't mean "Africa"

and to say so is completely ignorant.

Filipinos, and Aztec and Mayan influences also need to be considered.
