To dry a bunch of roses with the petals still on the flowers, choose roses that aren't quite fully opened. Cut off any leaves or side stems, then bundle the stems using a rubber band. Hang the roses upside down in a dry, dark place such as a closet for a few weeks until they're completely dry, then remove the petals from the roses. To enjoy the roses while the petals are drying, put the roses in a vase in a dry area, such as near a fan. Let the roses dry naturally, then remove the petals. To press the rose petals, choose roses that are in full bloom. Gently pluck the petals from the roses. Open the heavy book to the middle and place two paper towels inside. Spread out the rose petals on the paper towels, then cover them with two more paper towels. Close the book and place another heavy book or weight on top. Check the rose petals every week until they're dry, then remove them from the book. To dry rose petals quickly, choose roses that are in full bloom. Gently pluck the petals from the roses. Place the petals on a paper towel and microwave them for about 1 minute. Check to see if the petals are dry. If not, microwave them a little longer and check them again. To dry rose petals in the refrigerator, remove the petals and put them between two sheets of paper towels, or leave the petals on the flowers and cut the stems just below the blossoms. Place the roses in the refrigerator until the petals are dry. This method works especially well for preserving en entire rose corsage with baby's breath and ferns.
The answers really vary. There are about 40 to 80 petals. The better roses have more. Check out the ones from Rose Source as you'll see the petals look fuller and healthier as these are carefully grown in farms specifically designed for roses.
it has bright petals to attract insects for pollination
It depends.... If you use fresh petals that YOU plucked from roses, yes it may ruin you carpet, this is because of the chemical chlorophyll. Roses have a lot of it, and the ends of the petals may leak it. This is the substance that they use for rose syrups and aroma bottles. If you use refrigerated petals, petals that are cold and a bit white at the ends, they will not leak because they are frozen and the chlorophyll and other substances are inactive. hope this helps!!!!!!

The wild rose have 5 petals and indefinite number of stamens but in cultivated roses there are indefinite number of petals and stamens due to modification of some stamens in to petals. The carpel is pear shaped.
Simple:Naturally evolved roses usually have five petals.Domestic roses have additional petals that were bred from the stamens.Better:There are a over a hundred species of roses in the genus Rosa. You can find exceptions to many of the general characteristics described.Exact numbers of petals, stamen and pistils, depends on the specie.(There are, in addition, an unknown number of cultivars.)Naturally evolved roses generally have five sepals, five petals and many spirally arranged stamens. The bases of the sepals, petals, and stamens are fused together to form a cup-like structure.Domestic roses have additional petals that were bred from the stamens.Roses have several to many pistils. It depends on the tye and variety.
