Good Question think it's because of the predator prey relationships. Like rabbits are colorblind, because they only eat grass and occasional bugs. Cats need color to see the birds and mice and others to distinguish their food source. Like the coral snakes. An animal that is prey to it has color to see their predator.
Some animal species can only see in black and white, some can only see movement or heat and some even have poor developed eyesight or none. This is a form of adaptation that has evolved to best serve the species. Owls for example can see perfectly with low light where mice can only see movement. So to hunt the owl needs good eyesight and natural selection takes care of letting owls survive that have the best developed sight. Mice have developed a keen sense of smell and use it to forage for food.
Humans can see colour because we have inherited that from our hunter gatherer ancestors and simians that need to see if fruit are ripe. on the other hand humans lack the hearing of mice and other animals that can communicate in the ultrasonic range
No, dogs for example can't see all colors.
As you are a mammal the question is meaningless unless you think everyone is colour blind.
Mice, like most mammals, are color-blind. They see a very limited number of colors - similar to what some humans with color blindness see
Bears, like most mammals, have some color vision. There is some indication that they can see reds, which many mammals cannot see, and if this is true, then their color vision is similar to that of a human being. There is a source like below.
All mammals except primates can only see the colors green and blue.
No, but most mammals see only in black and white.
No they can see many colors, but they can not see the color red.
Yes you always see color but it might not be the right color
Yes, but they can't see all the colors we see. Mammals, other than primates (humans are primates), are red/green color blind.
No they can see color
no they are not color blind they can see many colors of the rainbow
no cobras are not blind but like alot of other animals they can't see color so they ARE color blind but not flat out blind.
I looked a lot of places and I could only find a few animal that are not color blind. -cats -rats -mice -cows -sheep -human -ratlesnakes -hores (horses are part colorblind. They do see colos just just not the range of colors that us, humans see today.) Hope that helped!<3 (:
no, tigers don't see color because they are color blind
