-a lot of high schools do not require you to complete foreign language classes.
-as for secondary education it depends on what kind of education you go and get. if you go get a technical education (like to be a mechanic on a car)(most two year schools) most place would care less if you take a language. a 4 year university will require it most the time. and if they dont require it they will most likely let you test out if you have take some kind of language.

I want to become one to, my preferance would be to take foreign language classes, depending on wat kind of foreign service officer you would take either lots of History for a public diplomacy officer, lots of government and history for a political officer, then there are also economic and managment officers but those classes varie in different schools.

It would be better to list the schools that do accept ASL as a foreign language. Most do NOT, only recently has some schools started to accept ASL as a foreign language. George Mason University in Fairfax VA does.
