a hunter shooting a bow and arrow.
Both, different interpretations have lead to alternative pictures of Orion. Some claim that the bow is the old version as the new ones have him holding a sword or harpoon
You do not tilt or "cant" the bow at all if it is a compound bow. You want to bow perfectly in line with the body. If it is a traditional long bow or recurve bow then you cant "tilt" slightly toward the riser which in your case would be to the left.
Orion is called the hunter because the shape of the Orion constellation looks like a person with bow and arrow in hands or maybe a sword and shield in his hand...JUST IMAGINE IT....
The constellation Orion was named after the greek hunter Orion, who was supposedly put into among the stars by Artemis after she was tricked into killing him by her brother Apollo. Another version is that after a giant scorpion killed Orion, Artemis put the scorpion and Orion into the stars. She apparently made it so that Orion and the scorpion would always be on opposite sides of the sky.
He was a god. No. Orion was the great-hunter hero of a culture that probably pre-dated the Greek and got absorbed into the Classical Greek mythology. He was killed either by the bow of Artemis or from a sting from a scorpion.
The front of a boat is called a bow.
Yup! ;) hope This helped!

Orion the hunter and Artemis the goddess of the hunt really liked each other. One day Artemis' twin brother Apollo who was jealous of Artemis decided to get rid of Orion. Apollo took the chance when Orion was out swimming in the sea. Apollo said to his sister "I bet you can't hit that rock over there in the water." Artemis, who couldn't stand being challenged to shoot the "rock" in the water, took her bow and fitted an arrow and shot the rock. As soon as the "rock" sank out of view, Apollo informed his twin that she had just killed Orion. Artemis felt so bad that Apollo helped put his picture in the stars. That constellation is known as the hunter constellation.
