No as different colours of light(that is different wavelengths) move through glass at different speeds they bend when entering and exiting the prism by different amount causing a dispersion of the light into different wavelengths.
The light from the sun goes through the water vapor in the air. The vapor acts like a prism, projecting the spectrum (the colors) of the rainbow into the sky.
Separating light into various colors produces a spectrum or rainbow.
A prism refracts light into its component colours just like a rainbow does, so some of the colours are.... * Red * Orange * Yellow * Green * Blue * Indigo * Voilet .... and there are lots of intermediary colours in there also.
It is the spectrum of visible light, which has the colors of the rainbow.
White light is really all the colors of light, red to indigo, combined together. Running the light through a prism (including raindrops) splits those colors out separately because each light bends a little more or less than its neighboring colors when going through the prism (or raindrops).
A rainbow occurs when a wave of light is filtered through a prism, in most cases, raindrops. The prism then separates the light into all of the colors from which it is comprised.
we can separate rainbow colors from a mixture by passing them through the triangular prism.
When ordinary visible light shines on a prism.
light is white. if you mix the colors of the rainbow you get white. A prism separates the colors, showing a rainbow.
A prism
YES
It does indeed.
The light from the sun goes through the water vapor in the air. The vapor acts like a prism, projecting the spectrum (the colors) of the rainbow into the sky.
What exactly does a "prism" do? How does it work?well it turns out that a prism has light that reflects and on the other side out comes colors of the rainbow
Artificially, a rainbow can be produced by passing white light (sunlight) through a prism. The light passing through the prism constitutes the seven colors of the rainbow.
