Larger fish, water birds, alligators etc will all eat an Angelfish if they can catch one. They are however very well camoflaged and most of the time they remain amongst the reed beds, so they are well hidden and well protected from attack.
Every so often, a cod or a congler may pose a threat to an angler fish, but they aren't threatened by most sea creatures. Their main threat is humans.
