A dog can remember smells for years. Dogs live in the now. They will remember experiences like if the dog was beaten with a newspaper and you raise a newspaper to hit him with it, the dog will react to it. Mostly a dog will react to smells.

I think they dont because they remember tricks and all that so why would they have it?

∙ 14y agoA famous test, whereby dogs would be given food when a bell was wrung, proved that dogs could remember that they would be fed when a bell was wrung for months after the test was stopped. So, presuming the dog has remembered it in the first place, it could be months or even years.
