I mean, do you see that waggy tail, hear the little whines, feel the snuggles? If you think your dog doesn’t love you, maybe try a different dog.

Kidding, kidding. Of course, we all want to know if those signs of affection are love, the kind that we feel for our fluffy little friends, or just, “This guy gives me food!” Obviously we can’t read a dog’s mind, but according to some promising research, yes, your dog does love you.

In one study, dogs were presented with five smells (their own, a familiar dog’s, an unfamiliar dog’s, a familiar human’s, and an unfamiliar human’s) as their brains were scanned. The area of the brain associated with positive emotional response was most activated by the familiar human scent, which suggests that dogs do love us uniquely.

Keep that in mind the next time they chew up your favorite shoes.

yes they do because they will ride or die for you and anybody else and the best part is that they will always stay loyal to you especially if they sense your feeling mad or sad they will come over to you and try to cheer you up and if that doesn't say i love you in a dog's way then what will convince you that a dog loves you from the bottom of their hearts.

Love is a human concept, so it's a meaningless question to ask about a dog. Dogs are pack or social animals, so bonding is natural to them. Domestication means that humans have become dogs' primary bonds. The "affection" dogs express to humans is the same "affection" undomesticated dogs would express to each other in their packs. Since humans, as food providers, are often the alpha or dominant partner, dogs will express their submission in the form of intimacy and loyalty. There's nothing cynical about this, just a dog's expression of comfort with the relationship. If we want to call that love, then by all means, stoke our vanity.

If you were to lock your dog and your wife in the trunk of your car, If you were to leave them locked in the trunk for one hour, and when you let them out your dog would be just so happy to lick your hand and bounce around with love in they eyes, But not so for your wife. SO yes dogs do love us. LOL

Yes, as strange as it is, they can sense your emotions. When a person shows a different emotion, you send off chemicals that dogs can pick up. Along with that, dogs can tell the difference between a 'happy voice' and a 'mad voice'.

Some dogs can even sense when you're about to die, because of the chemicals a person sends off.

Hope this helps!

I am not sure about all dogs in general, but regarding my dog which is part beagle and part Cavalier king charles, the answer is a resounding YES! I have repeatedly experienced my dog licking areas of pain on my body... and what is truly astonishing to me, is that the pain I experience is nerve pain in my back, my legs and my feet, in very specific areas along very specific nerve pathways. My dog senses when my pain is at a high level, and licks the skin over those specific nerve locations feverishly for what seems like a very long time. And he won't be dissuaded from his task. He also stays right by my side the entire time I am suffering with my most severe pain. He will not leave until the pain has subsided. I have no idea how my dog is able to sense nerve pain that seems to be invisible even to the neurologists! But he does so accurately every time without fail.

Well if a dog loves you then it will come to you and when it sees you it will wag its tail and its body from side to side. sometimes dogs pull up their lip and show their teeth abit to show affection.

you might find this interesting aswell: when you dog licks you and sort of jumps up and nibbles you it means it really loves and trusts you!

hope you find this helpful
