They certainly can -- but without information on what you need help with this question is impossible to answer.
Yes and no. I have known many girls who have still injured their ankles playing while wearing braces. However that could possibly be because of the brand or quality. I personally don't wear them.
AFO stands for Ankle-Foot Orthosis, it is a type of short-leg Brace to help support a weak ankle and keep it from rolling side to side but allows the ankle to go forward and back. It can be made either from a very hard type of thermo-plastic or it can be made from steel and leather
Well if you are trying to do so, DON'T! It's NOT fun at all. You can break or sprain your ankle by falling and landing crooked on your foot, getting in a car crash, all "wonderful" options
Yes, it could be due to weak muscles, poor angle flexibility, running on uneven surfaces, or with shoes with inadequate heel support. It's the reason why warm-ups are recommended before running.
You have a weak ankle or it might break soon. I'm not sure.
Achilles
Achilles did.
1. ok...well from what i can see you need a COURT!! 2. Also you need a basketball hoop. 3. you need at least 2 players to get a game going 1 on 1. or you can get as many people as you want but only 5 players on each team on the court a total of 10 players. 4. you don't need this but it helps! Basketball shorts, pants. Basketball shoes {to help support your ankles.}{don't wear flip flops no grip!} Basketball shirt and if you need a brace if u have weak ankles. 5. NO JEWLERY!!! AT ALL!
Possible causes are higher than average foot arches, bowed legs or weak ankles.
Answer: When you ankle swells up from a sports related injury its always best to use ice, take some from your freezer and put it in a plastic bag, tie it up and put that bag into a thin towel or a T-shirt or something then let it sit on your ankle until its numb then take it off. Also when icing its good to keep your ankle elevated, you can do this comfortably by sitting with your feet up on your couch and watching TV or reading. Using ice helps with alot of sports related injuries. Also when its feeling better (after about a week of taking it easy and icing it) then you can move your ankle around in circles. Your calves are the closest muscles that control the ankle so you can work on them by doing things like squats, lifting yourself up onto the balls of your feet and slowly letting your heel rest on the ground, and going out for a jog around the neighborhood. your friend, Ginj88
Like most running shoes on the market today, Nike Lunarclipse offers light weight support. The sole of the shoes is made to support, but also allow for flexibility. With this flexibility your feet will hit the ground with less force, reducing the incidence of ankle rolling.
A knee brace has its own benefits especially after knee surgery. One, there's mainly the problem of additional damage to the weak bone of the knee after knee surgery.
