no religion preaches that we should have "overpopulation" but some religions feel that we should "Be fruitful and multiply" and this does add to the population.

some religions feel that no methods should be taken to improve your odds of having sex but not conceiving - so, those would add to the population as well.

also, I could see that some might say that religions who take a stand against abortion or euthanasia are increasing the population, as well.
