yes it does use energy. My straightener uses energy when it is plugged in, but not on. What i have learned to do is unplug all the things that don't need to be plugged in. If u think that something needs to stay plugged in then leave it in but if it doesn't my best advise is to unplug it!
Depends on the device. If a lamp is not turned on, it draws no power. However, many items are called "vampires"- they draw at least small amounts of power whenever plugged in. A cell phone charger, even when not charging, draws some power through its transformer. A computer may have a fan that runs, the kitchen range may not be using the burners, but the clock runs, etc.
No. However, if it is in standby or has any keep-alive circuitry then yes.
No, but if the tv is on standby then it uses around two thirds of the electricity of what it would do if it were switched on.
Not when the stand-by is also turned off. Yes, that uses electricity if the device is left on standby.

Yes.
No In a standard house lamp, if the bulb is missing the circuit is broken in the same way as if the light switch were off. It is not very safe, however, to leave a lamp like this. A child or pet could complete that circuit easily by touching the two connectors in the socket and receive a very bad shock.
What ever the wattage rating stated on the light is, this is the amount of energy you are using.
yeah but don't leave it for like a full day . i'm always on my phone and what i do is when its on like 2 bars what i'd do is that night leave it on charge for the night but unplug it when i get up straight away and i charge it in a wall socket there's nothing wrong with that and i need my phone to always be charged up because im texting people every single 10/ 5 mins and even less when they text me back and i'm never saw without my phone not even 4 1 moment
It would not be dangerous to leave a light bulb partially unscrewed, however, there is some possibility that it will fall out of the socket. I would advise that if you don't want the bulb to be on, and you don't have a light switch, unscrew the bulb completely and put it away until you need it.
You'd be surprised by just how much power people could save by turning off the lights! On average, one light bulb uses sixty watts of energy per hour. Let's say you turn off a certain light for one hour daily. After a year, you'll end up saving over 22,000 watts of energy. Electricity is saved if lights are turned off every time you leave a room for more than a few minute, but the surge of power required to restart the light when it is switched back on may cancel any saving if the light has been turned off for only a few seconds.
dont leave water by a electric plug or a fork in the mircore wave or any type of hair in a socket
If you leave a plug socket on without a plug in it you will lose between 550 to 1,000 health points per 1 swich

In order to charge the tablet from the computer - you need to leave the computer switched on.
turn off the lights when you leave a room
A bad electricity supply can cause damage, as the power fluctuates, the computer can struggle for enough electricity and this can cause damange and data loss. You can tell if you may be affected by switching the socket you use to power your computer and testing if the performance is different.
Electricity has became an issue because lots of people leave their lights on from the morning to night without turning them off which means that the electricity bill will increase
West point home is a company that sells electric blankets. An electric blanket is a blanket you plug into a wall socket and the electricity is used to heat the blanket. These are really nice for the winter time. You want to be sure not to leave them on while sleeping. There have been stories of them catching fire.
No, it does not. Only if the phone is switched on will it register a missed call.
If you leave lights on when you are not using them and leave the TV on when you are not watching it, you are using too much electricity. You can actually cut your electric use and bill by shutting off lights when you are not using them, turning off appliances, including computers.
with their high powered electricity, if you make them mad enough, they will leave a deadly sting!
To encourage people to save electricity, put reminders on light switches. This will help them to remember to turn it off as they leave the room.
