Yes, they do have hollow bones!! They are the only mammal that can fly.

EDIT (5-10-10) Actually, bats do not have hollow bones like birds. With birds, the bone is actually hollow, allowing air to travel through them. While bats have bones like every other mammal (hollow, but filled with marrow), the bones of bats are extremely small, allowing bats to successfully fly without having completely hollow bones like birds. The answer to that question is yes and no at the same time. Yes, they have hollow bones that are filled with marrow. This helps to make the bone stronger. However, they do not have the same bone structure as birds, which are completely hollow. A bat is a mammal, and hollow bones would not support the mass in a mammal. Just imagine if we had hollow bones. We would break our bones practically every day. If our bones were filled with air and not marrow, we would be extremely fragile. It's the same with bats. They would not be able to stand if they had hollow bones. In conclusion, a bat's bones are filled with marrow, not air, so they are not technically hollow.
yes! Bats do have vertebrae.
They fly. They must have a skeleton.
Erm yes
Yes
No. Penguin do not have hollow bones
birds have hollow bones to help them fly
It has indeed been proved that fox do have hollow bones. It has indeed been proved that fox do have hollow bones.
hollow bones belongs to chordata phylum
they have hollow bones because they need to be light
no they do not have hollow bones. this is because they are flightless and god just made them that way♥ ♥
Cheetahs do not have hollow bones. Birds have some hollow bones with criss-crossing segments for strength. This lightens them for flight.
hollow bones are stronger than compact bones
their bones are hollow to make them lighter, and more legible for flight. if they had solid bones they wouldn't be able to fly as fast, high or as maneuverable as they are now. Hope this helped! (:
Yes as birds with hollow bones cannot fly for longer whereas penguins do not have hollow bones and are able to swim in rough tides for ages. Also non-hollow bones are stronger and tougher than hollow bones.
Birds bones are hollow. That is why they can fly, because they are so light because of their hollow bones. x)
Birds are the only creatures that are warm blooded and have wings. Not all birds, however, have hollow bones - most flightless birds do not have hollow bones.
