Bearded dragons dont hibernate, but they do brumate, usually in winter when it is cold. it is completely normal, and he will be active and happy in a few months. brumating is when the beardie just gets really tired and doesn't eat, move around, or defecate as much.

Actually it's termed as brumation. Brumation can appear at different times of the year based on the animals location, season, barometric and atmospheric pressure etc.

∙ 14y agoyes beardies hibernate. male or female, they will do this every winter for 6-8 weeks. if u dont allow them to do so, it will shorten their lifespan. they wont however hibernate if the weather is nice and warm, when they dont feel a need for it. the lighting should be reduced, but still keep it warm.

∙ 12y agoBearded Dragons don't need to hibernate - they are originally from a hot, dry climate that never gets cold enough for them to go into hibernation !
