The color doesn't matter to birds. Some birds just prefer certain kinds of seed over others. For example, cardinals and grosbeaks prefer sunflower seeds but finches prefer thistle seed.

yes because if the food wasn't coloured it would be invisible so you need colour. Have you ever seen a bird eating invisible food?
