Deer don't have horns. They have antlers, which are shed yearly. Horns are permanent. If you are going to give 'answers', at least be accurate....

How sharp is a bulls horn?

Not as sharp as the blade of a razor or good cutting knife, but sharp and pointy enough to cause enough damage if they are used as a weapon of defense. Cows' horns can be just as sharp as that of a bull.

What are bulls with horns called?

A horned cow. That's it: End of Story. A "cow" or cow with horns is NEVER nor should EVER be called a bull. Bulls are just as capable of having nor horns as cows are capable of having horns. To say that a bovine has horns makes it a bull is indicative of a person very misinformed and ignorant of bovine genetics and physiology.

Do bulls have teats?

Yes, just like human males have teats and cows and heifers have teats. The only difference between the teats of bulls and cows is that the teats of a bull are non-functional.

Is a cow and a bull the same?

No. Cows and bulls are different. Though they are of the same species, they are not the same gender or sexes. Cows are female and bulls are male. This is very obvious just by looking at them--especially if you know what to look for.

Why do you see fields of cows but not bulls?

Most cattle producers prefer to keep their bulls in a more sturdier fenced area than in a pasture; this is only during the rest of the year that isn't breeding season. The other reason could be that you can't tell the difference between a bull and a cow from the road on a vehicle going 100 km/h, or you just can't tell the difference between a bull and a cow because you think that bulls have horns and cows don't, which couldn't be farther from the truth.

What is female a whale called?

The females are cows, the males are bulls and the young are calves. Just like cattle.

What do you call cows after they have been dehorned?

Just cows, or whatever name they've been called: steers, heifers, bulls, cows, etc.

Does a head of cattle equal one cow?

Not necessarily. It means cattle in a collective term, not cows as in only cows with calves, or dry cows or pregnant cows or bulls or steers or heifers or whatever. When a cattleman says that he has 50 head of cattle, he means cows, bulls, steers, heifers and calves, not just the cows themselves.

Does a sheep have horns?

Not all cows do, but they are certainly more than capable of having them. Horns in cattle is not just a male characteristic, but found in both male and female. Horns are often larger in males than females. Many of these horned cows have had their horns removed (called "dehorning") when they were calves in order to minimize injury to other cattle, the handler, and damaging equipment. This is especially true for dairy cows, not so much with beef cows. Horns are removed by caustic paste, hot-iron or horn-clippers. Not all producers (or "farmers") dehorn all their cows, though. However, dehorning can be done genetically, as many of the horned breeds have cattle that also come naturally hornless or polled. Breeding a horned cow or bull to a polled bull or cow, respectively, will often "take the horns off" the calves. Other cows from heritage or "older" breeds are naturally born with horns, and don't come in the polled variety like the other improved and modern-type breeds that were historically primarily polled. The horns from these breeds may curve up, down or grow sideways, and come in various lengths, depending on the breed. Cows can also be found to be horned (not dehorned at all) if they come from ranches that prefer to keep the horns on their cows, especially since they provide some form of defense against predators that may threaten their calves. Some producers, however, may have their cows' horns tipped if the producer is really concerned about damage to equipment or other cattle. Bulls are more likely to get their horns tipped than cows. Then there are those breeds that are naturally polled and never have cattle (cows, bulls, steers, and heifers) that are horned. Such breeds include Angus, Red Poll, Red Angus, Speckle Park, British White and American White Park.

Is a longhorn a type of bull?

Yes and no. The Longhorn is actually a breed of the domestic bovine, which is one that has both cows and bulls (both horned) to make up that breed. The adage that "all bulls have horns" is not true, though, even though all bulls (and cows) of this breed are indeed horned.

What does beef come from?

Beef comes from cattle, be they steers, heifers, cows, or bulls.

Are wagyu cows or bulls?

Of course there are both. But for the beef the bulls are castrated and they are called steers. The females are also sometimes used for beef but they are called Heifers. That just means that they have not had babies.
