they do not.they will fight them off when they disturb their kill,but they do not hunt them.

Brown bears are opportunistic omnivores, meaning they'll eat anything that's available. Since herring breed in shallow, quiet breeding pools, they would easily be a source for shoreline browns. On the west coast, brown bears have been monitored for movement correlating to salmon runs, and found to position themselves on breeding rivers 3-5 days prior to any given run. It would seem reasonable their east-coast cousins would have the same timing ability.

The fox is not usually part of the brown bears daily diet. Brown bears eat plants, berries, and occasionally fish.

yes, and actually they eat more plants than animals because plants are much easier to get than other animals. Hunting is much harder than it seems.
