Are lowest test scores dropped for repeat testing on the sat 1 test?

Technically speaking, no. The Collegeboard will keep your test scores from all test dates on record under your Collegeboard account and profile (unless you specifically call to cancel your scores in the event of a calculator malfunction or illness during testing). This means that if a college asks you to send all of your scores (yes, they CAN ask students to not use Score Choice), you will have to send those low scores. However, colleges like to make themselves look better when they can. (They have to report the average SAT scores of their incoming freshman classes to US News and World Report for ranking information, and they also have to provide data to profile books like the Princeton Review. Of course, higher numbers make them look more selective!) Colleges also like to help you out in the admissions process. So most of them are willing to look at only your top scores. This can be either from test date to test date or even from subject to subject. For example, if you score 520 math/ 400 reading/ 560 writing on your first test but a 600 math/ 510 reading/ 420 writing on your second, a lot of colleges will ignore the lower math from test 1, the lower reading from test 1, and the lower writing from test 2. Some colleges (Tufts) have a computer system that will automatically select the highest scores you enter on your online app. These highest scores are the only ones the admissions officers will ever see, as the system hides all other scores for you.In general, try to do well on the SAT. It's an important test that plays a huge role in college admissions/ scholarships/ etc. But if you do poorly on one section or test date, don't stress. Most likely, an admissions officer will ignore it if you retest better.Good luck.

Do colleges check ACT scores or SAT scores?

Yes. The scores are sent to them from the testing service. Which score a school prefers is depended on the school and their admission process. At this point, most schools will look at either of them, but check with their admission office to determine which they want to see.

Does the Star Test count for your Grade?

No. It doesn't count for your grade. The STAR test is basically a test to see if your teachers are doing their jobs, and how "smart" your school is in general.

Do you have to take the sat to get into college?

All colleges in the U.S. that require admissions exams as part of the admissions process will take either the ACT or the SAT. The two tests are very different, so it would be worth your time to consider the ACT as well. Almost all colleges list their admissions requirements on their websites, so one of your first steps should be to check the admissions requirements and then decide which test to take. Some students take both tests. With the ACT, you can opt not to report scores to colleges until you see the scores. If you retest and get a higher score, you can choose to only report the second set of scores to prospective colleges. Also, most colleges don't require a writing score. The ACT's writing test is optional. That's another reason to check the college's requirements first. The SAT does not have a Science test--the ACT does. The ACT tests higher math (there are a few trigonometry questions) but the Math Test only counts for 25% of the composite score rather than a third for the SAT's math section.

How can you see your ACT scores if it was taken in 2005?

You have to pay $17 for them to send you a score report. I took my test in April 2006 and this is what they told me when I called them.

In addition to ACT scores that are in the range - Should I send my SAT score if they are a bit below the school's 50 percent range?

If you ACT scores are in the range, I would not bother to send in the SAT scores. One other thing you might consider would be to retake the ACT is December and see if you couldn't boost your score by a few points. If a college knows you are retaking the test, they can wait for the new scores before they make a decision. The scores can be rushed to a school within ten days of the test date. With a little test prep and practice, you canprobably get a higher score and a better chance of getting into schools.www.collegedirection.org

How does your GPA affect your SAT?

It all depends upon the school. Most community colleges will take you. Some schools really want to see your class standing in high school, a more relative evaluation then you actual GPA.
