Democrats are a pretty varied bunch of folks, so there are a lot of different opinions on different matters, but the best place to go to see, formally, what Democrats stand for is the Platform of the Democratic Party. Regarding civil rights the platform does mention opposition to "age" discrimination in a general context.
Here is a piece of the platform on Civil Rights:
Democrats have a long and proud history of defending Civil Rights and expanding opportunity for all Americans. From the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in 2009, Democrats have fought to end discrimination in all forms-including discrimination based on race, sex, ethnicity or national origin, language, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or disability. We believe in the essential American ideal that no one should be constrained by the circumstances of their birth, and that each of us should have the opportunity to make of our lives what we will.
That is an important question when considering the ACLU. In fact the ACLU has nothing to do with any political party. They say: "The ACLU is our nation's guardian of liberty, working daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country." So if Democrats somehow worked to reduce your rights under the Constitution the ACLU would fight that just as much as if Monarchists had somehow reduced your rights. Confusion comes in because the ACLU is dedicated to protecting your rights under the Constitution and Democrats are also generally dedicated to protecting your rights under the constitution. "Generally," but not always, Democrats have been the target of ACLU efforts in the past. A member of the Monarchist party, for example, would not be concerned with an individual's rights as Monarchists believe in the Divine Right of Kings and not in democracy. The ACLU would not allow the Constitution to be trampled by Monarchists or any other organized group.

Freedom of unlimited free speech and individual rights is protected under civil liberties. Unfortunately, this freedom has the potential to hurt other individuals.
An individual, in legal terms, refers to a single person who is recognized as a distinct entity with rights and responsibilities under the law.
States rights versus federal rights , and individual rights for citizens versus protecting all the citizens under the law of the land.
Citizens of Athens lived under the laws of the city. Their individual rights were absolute, subject to those laws. Citizens were adult males. All others had no specific rights.
The Bill of Rights protects our individual rights and freedoms by outlining specific rights that the government cannot infringe upon, such as freedom of speech, religion, and the right to a fair trial. These rights help ensure that individuals have the freedom to express themselves, practice their beliefs, and receive fair treatment under the law.
The rights of the individual can be compromised by the rights of the people when collective interests, such as public safety or social welfare, are prioritized over personal freedoms. This often manifests in laws or policies that restrict individual liberties, like freedom of speech or privacy, under the guise of benefiting the larger community. Such compromises can lead to a slippery slope where individual rights are continually eroded in the name of the greater good, potentially resulting in injustices and oppression. Balancing these rights is crucial to ensuring that individual freedoms are respected while still addressing communal needs.
Every individual has the right of protection under the constitution. And this is the role of the Government.
