Do denture tablets expire

I recently moved my storage space to another facility, and in the process, found a few items which I brought home with me. Among these was a mostly full box of Efferdent-style (Walgreens-branded) denture cleanser tablets. I figured I'd bring them home, in case I ever run out of my regular ones, and needed them in a pinch. Well, I did eventually run out, so I broke these out. I was looking on the box for an expiration date, and did not find one specifically, though on an inner flap of the box, I DID find a date - in this case, 12/02, which could be a Lot Date, or Production Date, if not necessarily an EXPIRATION date. Either way, it's REALLY long ago (It is now May, 2020, so it's been nearly 18 years!). Is it possible that I've had this box of denture cleanser tablets tucked away in a box all these years? Well, I moved to my current city in 2003, so YES, it IS possible. So I decided to give one a go. I mean, they're all individually wrapped, and if it were bad, I think it'd be pretty obvious: either it would smell off, or it would have crumbled or decomposed in some way. I plopped it in warm water, and everything seemed normal: It fizzed up, nothing unusual. I brushed & rinsed off my partial denture, and dropped it in, and didn't return to it until the next morning. Well, I'm pleased to tell you that it was fine! Even after all this time! Now, am I going to rely on this package & use it all up? No, I don't intend to. Even if they're fine, they ARE quite old, and there's no reason for me to carry on using them. But in a pinch, where I needed one, it came through, with no problems. I will buy a new box today, and throw the rest out. So, to answer your question, if I can use an 18 year-old tablet, and it still works fine, then No, I don't think these things expire.
