I believe they can feel both physical AND emotional pain. Don't get too anthropomorphic though.
From personal experience, yes they do...when my dog was neutered she was in a bad mood for a few days and clearly in pain

Well, simply; you have to clean up the mess: Blood, skin and anything else. I myself do not feel 75% of pain. The only thing that happens is, there is an incision or some form of indent on you. But, I think you are looking for: "What does it mean if I don't feel pain?". Well, that means that you have some sort of deficient cell or neuron. Although, it could be a psychological thing too. You could believe that you don't feel pain, and suddenly you don't. What I did (It is crazy if you do feel pain) take a cleaned knife and slowly stab your hand. If you don't feel it after bleeding, then consider yourself freakish :) P.S I am dead serious.
