Female dogs do not have periods. Their fertile times are heats. They can bleed heavily , and there are doggy diapers for this. Remove when you walk her, as most dogs dislike them and look embarrassed to wear them. If you don't use them for heavy bleeders, you will have a stinky, blood-stained house. Please consider spaying her after her present heat if you are not a breeder.
