Dolphins are reputed to be able to shut down one side of their brain and sleep. On wakening, they will shut down the other half. (They still have to breath air.) So, one eye open at a time is probably correct.

Yes, bats do actually sleep with their eyes open although they do have the ability to shut them. Frogs and fish also sleep with their eyes open and surprisingly so do cattle! However, as they are unconscious they are not able to see.
Blood shut eyes are when your eyes hurt when you open them. It happens when you don't get enough sleep. Sometimes when you have blood shut eyes, you don't have pink eyes just normal white but a little pink. You have to sleep more or get some drops to heal it. Water or anything else wont work.
Relax, shut your eyes, go to sleep and dream, or transport them in an Aircfraft.
