Sometimes the unconsious mind has been known to manifest its desires/feelings through dreams. Dreams do play an important role in processing information feelings etc that you have been feeling or are beginning to feel.
Mostly I would personally say they do reveal slight insights whether it be an article of clothing or a character or even a subject of a dream.
Dreams are also random and chaotic at the same time so a careful analysis of all possibilities would help. Especially re occurring patterns in dreams or perhaps repeating dreams.

Dreams speak through symbols, and dreams are about the dreamer. Assuming that in real life the dreamer's family is not expecting a baby, the little sister represents some aspect of the dreamer's self. She could be the dreamer's "inner child," the innocent, curious, vulnerable aspect of the dreamer's personality that needs nurture and protection. This inner child or little sister can find expression through creativity and other playful areas of life that are too often neglected as one focuses on "adult" matters. Alternatively, if the dreamer's family is expecting a baby, the dream is an expression of the dreamer's hope and excitement about the new sibling. It could mean a number of things. It could mean you want a little sister... It could mean you may be getting a little sister in the future... It could mean you had a little sister but you dont remember and were never told... But then again... It could mean nothing at all... Just a silly dream
