Yes. The females mainly attack each other. Also some crabs just play with other crabs and it looks like they are attacking.
Hermit crabs fight by using their claws to pinch and grab each other. They may also use their shell as protection and shelter during fights. The goal of the fight is often to establish dominance or access to resources such as food or mates.

Hermit crabs are very social and LOVE company they usally don't live as long as they do when their with others. They can live over 2 years mine lived for 3 years. Hermit DO FIGHT they fight over shells. one likes a shell the other has (make sure your hermies has alot of shells, NOT over crowding the tank!) and they fight. The victim usally dies over the fight. But if you are there when it happens, you should blow on them if they still fight pick them up (do NOT pull them one will lose a limb!) if that doesn't happen you need to LIGHTLY mist them with distilled water.
sweetwater crabs is a dirty word that young people use to talk "dirty" to each other
Some hermit crabs do fight. I week ago bought two hermit crabs. At first I bought one and then I read that they like to be with other crabs so the same day I bought another. The first one i bought was really active before I got the second but slowly I saw him retreat into his shell. Yesterday I found him without a leg but I never saw the crabs fight so I didn't think that was the reason. However, today I cam home from work and found the first one ripped apart in the cage. After some research I learned that they fight over shells and actually do rip each other apart on occasion. I have had about 15 hermit crabs throughout my 25 years and I never knew this fact. So, if you find your crab is acting weird with another crab move them to separate cages.
Crabs may pull each other down in a competitive struggle for resources or dominance within their social hierarchy. This behavior can be a result of competition for food, shelter, or mates, as crabs establish and maintain their place in the group.
