Yes, fire ants can kill worms. Fire ants are aggressive predators and scavengers that often attack soft-bodied invertebrates, including earthworms. They use their powerful mandibles to bite and sting their prey, injecting venom that immobilizes or kills it. Once the worm is subdued, fire ants may dismember it and carry the pieces back to their colony as food. In areas with high fire ant populations, earthworm numbers can decline significantly. This disruption can negatively affect soil health since earthworms play a crucial role in aeration, decomposition, and nutrient cycling in ecosystems. Thus, fire ants can be harmful to worm populations.

I live in Florida. Before I had Argentine ants (little black ants, bazillions of them) I had Fire ants. Fire ants are not very nice Ants since they bite and like to wait until several hundred of them are halfway up your pant leg so one of them can give the signal so they can all bite at the same time. I don't see any way of getting rid of these little guys, but I can say that since they showed up, the Fire Ants are GONE. The Argentine Ants are the Fire Ants enemy and did a fine job of wiping them out.
The species of ants in the Bahamas that bite people and are commonly found near water are likely fire ants. These ants are aggressive and their bites can be painful. It's possible that they were not interested in soda pop as they are more attracted to food and sweet substances.

Yes ... they do. All ants are female except a few males who are there to inseminate the queen/queens during mating. All ants bite when needed to defend the nest and there are some ants (soldiers) who have special abilities when doing so. Some soldier ants have large and powerful jaws to crush other ants while others have the ability to squirt formic acid at enemy ants when fighting. Yes ... female ants do bite and I can tell you from experience it can be quite painful.
One example of a frog that eats fire ants is the fire ant frog (Leptodactylus wagneri). These frogs have evolved to have a resistance to the venomous bite of fire ants, allowing them to prey on them without harm. Eating fire ants can help control their populations in certain environments.
