Forget-me-nots are flowers of the genus Myosotis which has about 50 species so colors can vary. Most common are blue and white. They can be annuals or perennials and are found all over New Zealand, temperate parts of Europe, Asia and America. The forget-me-not is the state flower of Alaska. It is called the forget-me-not because 15th century Europeans believed that those who wore the flower could not be forgotten by their lovers.
