do foxes, monkeys and, lynxs make good pets? I guess because foxes are predators you wouldn't be able to keep them with other pets, however if you had it from birth you may be able to bring it up as if it were a dog. I know monkeys can be ever so like humans but with foxes, lynxs and monkeys i am sure they are better pets if had from babies but i am sure there are better alternatives.

Actually, a fox can make a beautiful house-hold pet, as long as you are prepared to supply it's needs. There are hundreds of people who own them all around the US. But foxes are NOT dogs. They do not behave much like one, because they are foxes. If you are considering making a fox part of your family, do your homework and read up on these creatures to see if they are right for you and your lifestyle.

They smell, they break things, they find ways to break out of cages, and they will attack humans if cornered.

While foxes can become quite tame and affectionate if obtained when they are very young, they do not make good pets. During the mating season males, especially, can have dramatic temperament swings and can suddenly become unfriendly and snappy. They can bite quite hard and draw blood. They cannot be truly housebroken and will tend to mark their territory by spraying and that means your furniture and other possessions. If you must have a fox and they are legal in your area, keep them in a well constructed outdoor pen with a shelter. They can burrow so they should have a concrete bottom covered in several inches of soil. They are better left to roam the wild rather than trying to make a pet of them.
