How do hornets live They live in hives
I have always heard "european hornets" or "giant hornets" called "bell hornets" all my life in central VA. I never learned they were the yellow and black "european hornets" until I researched them on the web only to find out nobody really had heard of "bell hornets". Hope this helps.
European Giant Hornets do, definitely. They are attracted to light as well, so a porch light or other external light on your house can attract them.
Adult food consists of nectar or other sugary solutions such as honeydew and the juices of ripe fruits. Hornets hunt other insects, caterpillars, spiders, and even other bees and wasps to supply protein to larvae. They also chew plant material, like tree bark, to build their nests.
Absolutely!! They plague my Grandmothers lawn around August and September.
Hornet bees live in the woods in big nests.
