I have had so many debates on this issue. I have personally watched goldfish nip at fins of other goldfish, heads of orandas and even the tail of a freshwater stingray (don't ask). So yes, they are nippers.

It does happen in badly run aquaria. If the basic rules of fishkeeping are not followed, and the fish are poorly fed, a certain amount of fin nipping can sometimes occur. From your question, I assume you do not know the basics of fishkeeping so here they are. 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water.(a single goldfish needs 10 gallons) :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. If you follow the above, and feed the fish in the morning and evening as much as they can eat in 15 minutes, remembering to always remove any uneaten food immediately, with luck, your fish will stand a chance. Fail in any of the above and I can guarantee that your fish will have constant health problems and live shortened lifespans.

Goldfish don't have teeth, and they are not very aggressive.

My goldfish is huge and sometimes gets a finger when I hand feed her, but only by accident, and it's funny and doesn't hurt at all.

Sometimes goldfish can be aggressive when breeding, but even then they don't bite. They just chase the girls around until they are exhausted.

Yes. One dorsal fin on their backs, three on their bellies and one on each side of their body, if you understand my rubbish description.

Yes it depends on if it is the top fin then no it could die but if it is one of the bottom fins then it could grow back but it could take a while though.
