Yes, usually they can. In extreme cold they will go into hibernation. This is where the hamster stores up food and stays asleep until the cold period is over. If a hamster goes into hibernation it is very important not to try to wake them up.
Hamsters won't die from a cold directly, but if it progresses and becomes pneumonia, they can definitely get so ill that they die. Watch for a lot of sneezing and runny eyes or noses. This could be a sign of something more serious.
well, the hamster NEEDS to be in temperatures between 65-75 degrees. they can freeze to death and they can have heat strokes.

If kept inside normal syrian hamsters don't die in winter. I wouldn't suggest puting it outside in winter at all.
oh yes they can they can get colds all right, fevers too!
(if you want more information go to a libary.)
Hamsters can get cold quite easily, and therefore can go into hibernation, so it is best to keep your hamster warm but not too hot.
Hamsters hibernate in the wild for winter, it doesn't kill them. However pet (domesticated hamsters) can't hibernate because it would kill them.
Wild hamsters sleep during the winter, but I'm not quite sure if they do as household pets...my guess is they don't.
no!
If you buy a winter white (or siberian) dwarf hamster during the winter, it is white with a light gray stripe on its back. The color of a winter white dwarf hamster's coat depends on your hamster. You have to wait until spring or summer to see. :)
It's just the breed. All Hamsters need to sleep for a long time. I have a teddy bear hamster, and she is actually very active. Some hamsters though, do sleep a lot. They are nocturnal, so they sleep a lot during the day
Raccoons and skunks may be seen about during winter months. During the coldest and snowiest times they remain in their den and sleep. It is not a true hibernation, however, as they may arise during less severe days and forage for food.
Some turtles do and some turtles don't cause during winter it's hard to find food for certain animals liek turtles
they realy sleep in the day they sleep alot
they sleep but they do not hibernate
Winter sleep is called hibernation. Hibernation is when animals (such as bears) sleep for multiple months in order to conserve energy during the winter.

A hamster could be lazy during the day because all hamsters are nocturnal. That means they sleep during the day but are active at night.

I prefer winter white.
Yes! They will sleep during the day and play during the night, therefore do not keep it in your bedroom!
They Mostly Sleep

a batter butt In the non-winter months, honeybees don't sleep at all.
Flickers do not sleep during the winter in the lower mainland of British Columbia. They feed off the suet we put out for them all winter long.
