Best Answer

No. Chickens will lay perfectly good eggs without a rooster. In fact, many people prefer not to keep a rooster, because they don't want to find a fertilized egg that was a little too far along.

Roosters do not need, and shoild not to be kept with hens if you want edible eggs. If you keep a rooster with you hens, you will find some blood spots in the yolk, due to a chick that is growing. Without a rooster, hens lay just as fast, but have edible eggs.

No. The hens will lay with or without the rooster. The rooster is only really needed if you wish to have fertile eggs and replace aging stock or need protection for the free range flock.

No, you don't need a rooster for hens to lay. You only need a rooster if you want the egg to hatch.

Hens will lay without a rooster, you just need a rooster for (dubious) protection and if you want to hatch chicks.

Absolutely yes. A hen does not need a rooster to produce eggs, she only produces fertile eggs when a rooster is involved. Many farm flocks do not have a rooster among the flock and egg production does not suffer in the slightest. A rooster job is to protect the flock and mate with the hens to produce offspring but the hens will continue to lay eggs with or without him.
