Not directly. Weedkiller is a Herbicide, therfore it kills herbage, or green growth.
Pesticides kill pests, or insects which would include bees although they are not seen as pests.
The problem for the bees with a Herbicide is that it kills its pollen plants, therefore it can lean to the death of bees by starvation if a large enough area is sprayed.
The chemical companies would have us believe that their products are completely harmless, but there are a lot of question marks over them. The companies argue that the doses of insecticide received by the bees are not high enough to kill then. This may be so, but does not take into account any other side-effects such as disorientation which causes the bee to lose its way back to the hive, or a general degredation of the bees' state of health.
Speaking as a beekeeper, we desperately need more independent research on the effects on bees of the various chemicals used by our farmers.
It depends on the type of weedkiller. However, the majority of weedkillers are very toxic, and the lethal dose for small insects is not very high. If the spray for the weedkiller has a foaming nozzle, use that. It will coat the nest and wasps, making it more difficult for them to fly and will kill them exceptionally quickly when they try to clean themselves. From personal experience, spraying anything works best at dusk when they're less active, and you don't want to spray for more than a few seconds before dashing away to avoid stings.
Bear in mind this is not the intended use of any weedkiller, and you should be careful where and how you apply these chemicals, ESPECIALLY indoors.
yes, herbicide is killing plants, rodes and bees too
Yes
Herbicides are members of the group of pesticides; thet are used to kill plants unwanted by the human beings.
It Helps to kill weeds in the garden
most insectiside will but before you kill them remember bees are good for your garden. Why would you want to kill bees?
I believe you are asking if insecticides and herbicides are used as preservatives. If so, the answer is no. Insecticides kill insects that might damage plants. Herbicides are used to kill plants ( usually as a weed control ). Both are NOT good to consume on fruits and vegetables. They are poisons.
Bees kill other bees to protect the hive or to steal honey from other hives through a hole in the hive.
will cold weather kill carpenter bees
no carbon monoxide will not kill bees. It does slow them down though.
they are used to kill un wanted plants
They kill em
Herbicides are often used to kill plants other than those being grown by the farmer. This includes the wild flowers growing in the field margins where there are no crops anyway. As a result there are far fewer flowers for the bees to forage. It goes against intuition, but it is a fact that bees kept in a city generally do far better and make more honey than bees kept in rural locations because city bees have access to parks and people's gardens with their wide range of flowers, wheras rural bees are now faced with agricultural monocrops and far fewer wild flowers.
Yes, they are carnivore's, bees, mosquito's..
