no they do not fall out their shells they will just simply stay in their shells and if u dont see them moving at all their dead
Answer: Usually a sea snail's.
No, Hermit Crabs molt due to bodily changes. After molting they find new shells to fit their new body.
They don't die in their shells they crawl out of their shells to die...(I read this from somewhere so I am not too sure...)
Hermit crabs have adapted to live in shells, so they will die without a shell. This is because they cant revolutionize over night it taks millions of years.
Hermit crabs can. It happens when the hermit crab is changing its shell and falls over or when the hermit crab is dead it slides out or falls out of its shell! Sadly they can't always get back in there shells and die.
Thats where they live, why would they get out just to die? They would rather die than be forced out of their shells, so when they shell fight, the loser will most likely die. :(
Nothing; All paint is bad for crabs, so don't buy those pretty painted shells for your hermit crabs or a crab in a painted shell. They are cruelly forced into the painted shell and are more likely to die when you bring them home. Also, they will eat the paint when it chips off and die.
the hermit crab will either eat or use an empty snail shell that would then be abandoned. all thx to mrs. perrins enviormental science class :) Answer - Commensalistic .
They just climb out. NEVER try to force them out! they would rather die then come out all exposed. Also it puts so much stress that they could die. If they want to change shells they will, but they are picky about them
No
yes
No, they are not. Painted shells-- *will chip and eventually look terrible. *can cause the hermit crab to get sick or even die- the paint has chemicals in it, and when it chips, the paint can fall into their food or water, and the crab will eat it- not a good idea! *are much less expensive than regular shells *provide a bad home to the crab Please - just get a natural shell. It is so much better for the crab.
