I really don't think you shoulden't because hermit crabs aren't where expirensed with other crabs what i'm trying to say is that the other crab might try to take him out of his shell and eat him but hey what do i know i'm 10

sand! it collects heat better than dirt and doesnt get o moist. most of he pet stores have sand. and i have had 19 different hermit crabs before and they all used sand not dirt

Yes because moon sand has many chemicles in it that are not yet introuduced to the crab. Something may happen to the hermit crab so it would be safe not to put the hermit crab in the moon sand, since scientist have not experimented it and found out for sure.
