It depends on the kind of hermit crab. if you find it at the beach it most likely needs water but if you find a land hermit crab they won't be able to breath under water, but land hermit crabs still enjoy being a little wet.
As most people know hermit crabs have gills most animals that breathe under water have gills for example a fish. The hermit crabs gill's can work on land but in order for the hermit crab to survive they hermit crabs gills have to be moist....
Some hermit crabs are land hermit crabs like the ones you buy at ocean city. They have modified gills which means they CAN'T breathe underwater. Hermit crabs need moist air so they need humidity between 70 and 80 and temp 70-80.
Hermit crabs haveb modified gills which means they can't breathe underwater but need 70-80% of humidity and temp to keep their gills moist.
hermit crabs need to live in 70-80 degree temprature
Hermit crabs live in the Caribbean so they have modified gills which means that they CAN drown and need to keep them moist. between 70 and 80 humidity and F temp.
no crabs dont have gills
Yes. The best way to deliver them water is a soaked sponge in a small dish. Be sure to keep it moist.
I think it is because they need to be moist and it helps them breath because I have 3 hermit crabs and u need their tank to be wet and humid I hoped that helped😄
