For example: If a gun shoots 400 fps with .20 gram ammo, it will probably shoot between 380-390 with .25 gram ammo. This difference in velocity doesn't make much of a noticeable difference, so the BB's will probably hurt about the same. The distance you're shooting from also makes a big difference.

Not really. Airsoft really doesn't hurt. I usually were ACU and last time we played got shot in the privates by a KWA M16 that shoots about 400 fps I think. It didn't hurt at all. Airsoft, in my opinion, is better than Nerf because airsoft lets you have more range, and you're not worried about picking up Nerf darts all the time.
