Most of the time , yes they are euthanized humanely. Most horse owners don't have the money to help the horse, but the Horse is a very complex animal and are very hard to, for a lack of a better word "fix" It is very very rare that a horse will live without a leg even with the best of Vet care. Research the race horse called " Barbaro" You will find out a lot about horses.
